MOCKED UP: WASHINGTON COMMANDERS POSSIBLE UNIFORMS???
The Washington Commanders are rumored to be getting new uniforms for next season. We mocked up some potential options so fans can see what they might be getting. Some of these are “likely” what is happening, while others are just fun ideas to kick around. Drop a comment at the end of this post to let us know what you think or what you’d like to see.

The Commanders are rumored to be going back to the “Super Bowl era” look, either partially or completely, for their main uniform set. Zach Cohen has been providing updates about what he is hearing.
What’s Likely
Washington football fans have been clamoring for a throwback look ever since the team’s most recent uniforms debuted, if not longer. While many fanbases seem to want that retro look (Miami, Atlanta, Seattle???) it’s not always the move we end up SEEING, for various reasons. That said, it does seem like the best move for the Commanders, whose CURRENT uniforms have been widely PANNED for many years.
For a primary set, we expect something like the image below. Note: we’re not mocking up all possible options for pants/jersey/helmet combos. This is just to get an idea of what main sets could look like.

A GOLD SET?
Could an all gold uniform be in the wardrobe? Will the stencil numbers remain in the mix (this is our modified take without the full stencil look) or will they go full block?
Knowing NFL teams and trends, if they do something like this they’ll probably wear gold socks and go full monochromatic, which would be a bummer. Contrast is king!

WHAT ABOUT RIVALRIES?
What’s in the works for the Rivalries edition for the Commanders?
We’d have to guess that like most teams this uniform will be a pretty big departure from their base look, pulling in colors that aren’t typically part of the brand palette. We don’t have any intel on these at this point, so we just mocked up something we thought could be a possibility. With the Wizards and Nationals both going with cherry blossom themes for City editions, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Commanders do the same.
